I don’t even see this trend as attacking women. It’s just exposing how unbalanced dating expectations have become. It has always been one-sided. Men are expected to provide, initiate, prove themselves, and basically keep “earning” a woman, while some women are made to feel like just being there is enough. The issue is entitlement. A relationship is not supposed to be one person acting like the prize while the other is performing. Now that men are saying the same things, it now sounds unrealistic and funny. If you expect provision, effort, emotional investment, and consistency, then it’s only logical you bring value, effort, and intention too.
