Lovely, mini salon with author @MirandaFrance1 today! We discussed her most recent work #TheWritingSchool, a delightful concoction of personal childhood experiences, her brother’s mental health which led to suicide, anecdotes from creative writing courses and womanhood.

I found it fascinating how much I resonated with her story in many ways yet we are from very different backgrounds. The book is funny, the writing is beautifully crafted, with quotable lines for aspiring writers and about life, memory and grief. I highly recommend! #IanThomson

Sad news for Zimbabwe. Weaver Press shuts its doors after 25 years of publishing some quite wonderful books and authors. I am proud to own every work of Zimbabwean fiction published by Weaver. I will always cherish their books. aljazeera.com/features/2023/…

Excellently planned by @writetoempower and @katetnorth the young women participated in inspirational sessions with amazing women who are leading the literary scene in Wales, they read their work in front of an audience for the first time, & participated in more writing workshops

It was the climax of a writing journey. 3 years of online writing workshops and virtual retreats; poetry and a bit of prose; mentorship and publication of two books; all of this culminated in a trip to Wales for 8 young Zimbabwean female writers.
