@nicksdot I've observed the same phenomenon in several projects. The consensus in my research party is that developers are forced to do that because we need a metric to charge for software, an excuse for people that know shit about the process so a big int means real progress.

2 long forgotten functions of #PHP: compact() turns variable names into an associative array. extract() does the reverse. Named in PHP 4. Still works. Most devs forgot they exist. Where do you see this being used?
