I mean you could just look at the source material and get about 90% of the understanding.
They decided to use anatomical realism for a humanoid cartoon fox.
Instead of looking like Fox Mccloud in this fictional universe, it looks like a real fox from our universe, pretending to be a humanoid

Thragg sees Mark, though a non-pure blood Viltrumite, as one of them, even if he ultimately despises him. Adding to that it’s likely after hearing Mark say he killed Conquest that Thragg wanted to see what strength he possessed. On the other hand, he views Oliver as an insect.
