🇩🇪🚂 €49 Deutschland Train Ticket 🚂🇩🇪 (1 min reading time) 🎫 The €49 Deutschland Ticket (D-Ticket) was introduced by Deutsche Bahn to combat the cost of living crisis for the German people & can be bought by anyone for the Euros 🚂 It allows UNLIMITED monthly travel throughout all of Germany on all forms of local & regional transport (EXCLUDING ICE trains - these are the fast trains used to travel from city to city) 🔁 The D-ticket is a rolling monthly subscription. So you must cancel it before the deadline to avoid being charged again for July 📅 The cancellation date is by the 10th of each month - so to only be charged for June, the D-Ticket must be purchased AND cancelled before the 10th June 🔚 Even once cancelled, the ticket remains valid until the end of June ❌ If you don't cancel before June 10th, you will be charged for both June & July ❓ To work out if this is good value for you, look at the cost of ALL your train tickets, including travelling between your cities and see if that total cost will be more or less than €49 🚂 Remember the fast Inter-City Express (ICE) trains are NOT included in the D-Ticket. So you will also need to weigh up extra journey time of taking a slower train across the country with the D-Ticket 🕟 If the regional trains offer the same journey you need, and only adds half an hour extra compared to the ICE trains, then D-Ticket might be worth it ⏱️ If however the regional train adds on 3 hours, and the ICE train tickets aren't too expensive, then the D-Ticket might not be right for you 🎟️ This D-Ticket is completely different to the other offers for Euro 24 match ticket holders 🆓 With a match ticket you can buy discounted train tickets for specific trains (including ICE tickets) and also get free train travel (excluding ICE trains) for 36 hours in the host city regional transport network 🇩🇪📱 The D-ticket is sold through DB (Deutsche Bahn) & they have an app called DB Navigator: 🍏 iPhone: apps.apple.com/us/app/db-navi… 👾 android: play.google.com/store/apps/det… 🧵 Earlier thread on the "fan pass" that allows free travel for match ticket holders in the host city: x.com/scotlandscoeff…
