this kfc popcorn chicken review showed up all over my feed — so i finally watched it. about two minutes in, i realized i was not really watching a food review anymore. i was watching one of the oldest successful formats on the internet, applied to a box of popcorn chicken, and suddenly this whole thing made sense. at first it looks like another fast food review. the longer you watch, the more the chicken almost becomes secondary. @JoeisHungryBite is tapping into one of the oldest and most trusted formats on the internet — calm, methodical videos that taught you how to change a tire, jump a dead battery, or fix a leaky faucet. the videos that respected your time and left you knowing something you did not know ten minutes earlier. he takes that same framework and applies it to a box of popcorn chicken. temperature checks, weight measurements, price-per-ounce math, interior shots, a final score. every question you might have gets answered before you even think to ask it. it is practical internet wrapped around a food review. then there is the production. multiple camera angles. patient editing. clean audio. thoughtful pacing. it feels less like a quick review and more like a short documentary. treating something as ordinary as fast food with that level of craftsmanship completely changes how you experience it. i think that combination is why this video is connecting with so many people. you have an older, straightforward presenter delivering practical information with filmmaking that feels surprisingly modern. nothing feels optimized for outrage. nothing feels like engagement bait. it just feels like someone who genuinely enjoys doing good work. ironically, that is what makes it stand out. it also made me wonder if people are simply hungry for this kind of internet again. not louder. not faster. just thoughtful people who know their subject, respect the audience, and care enough to make something well. maybe “dad internet” is making a comeback. the guys who taught us how to patch drywall, replace a garbage disposal, and sharpen a lawn mower have apparently decided they can review popcorn chicken too. somehow, it works.

The internet is money. If you can get past your own embarrassment and find a niche way to present things, you can print paper doing everyday things. Until people don’t like it. But you’ve bought a house by then. And can just go back to accounting full time.

@GoforNo Do you live in Florida? BOGO in Florida, you have to buy both to get the deal. In Tennessee, you don’t.

Grocery prices have changed the way I shop, but mostly by making me stricter about what counts as a deal. At my Publix in Tennessee, I can buy one BOGO item for half price. For a family of three, buying the one we need for a specific dinner saves more than bringing home two just because they’re on sale.

Publix is way too expensive. They’re about to price themselves into bankruptcy. I don’t care how much money you do or don’t have, paying twice as much for groceries at Publix as opposed to other stores is crazy irresponsible. I do realize my Accountant is coming out right now…

@forgedmedicine So, might be interesting to explore blood pressure, heart rate and how those do and do not relate to each other. Also palpitations, many people have those.

I’ve spent a lot of time on here talking about what happens when the body slowly starts changing over time. The little symptoms. The things people explain away. The stuff we call normal for years because the body keeps compensating and we can still get through the day. But I realized I keep talking about what happens without always backing up and explaining why it happens. So I am going to change directions a little. I want to start going through the body one system at a time. Not like a medical textbook, and not with a bunch of words nobody uses in real life. Just enough anatomy and physiology to understand what the body is supposed to do, what happens when it stops doing it well, and why the symptoms show up the way they do. We’ll start with the heart. What are some things you want to hear about? heart failure? Atrial fibrillation? Give me some ideas on which directions to go.
