I’ll take this time as a business analyst and marketing consultant to say what I think Xbox needs as whole. Where is the immersiveness and engaging tech? It’s not just games, it’s the things around Xbox. Kinect is gone (Families loved this), No VR, maybe a 1/3 of PS Peripherals (Haptic Suits, Headsets, Controllers, etc), a loss of true Couch Co-Op games that can also be played online TOGETHER on the same console, you name it. The Switch is successful because it’s family friendly, party style family games, etc. It can be a very simple game (Mario Kart, Mario Party) but still kick butt because it brings people together competitively. Imagine doing that with realistic, immersive, detailed games, not just focused on the story, but on the competitive nature and getting groups together. When me and my fiancée look for couch co-op games they are almost ALL story, most can’t be played online together, and they are all the same theme that have succeeded (It Takes Two, Split Fiction, etc). Where are the days of couch co-op on games like Left 4 Dead, Army of Two, things that are engaging and heart racing, rather than slow paced. I’d focus more on engaging experiences and expanding compatibility with peripherals to enhance that experience, than “accessibility” among TV’s, handhelds, etc. Xbox doesn’t need more accessibility, it needs more engaging experiences.
