Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia with the participation of the United States have not been a genuine process aimed at achieving peace. Throughout this time, the aggressor state has shown no intention of ending the war, said former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker. According to him, the negotiations have been a “performance” by Russia from the very beginning. “In reality, the peace talks so far have been more of a fiction. Russia has not been seriously committed to ending the war. It has simply used the negotiations as a tool to distract attention, floating business deal ideas to the Trump administration while continuing the war. So this is a ‘performance’ on Russia’s part,” Volker noted. At the same time, he said, the Ukrainian side understands the situation but is forced to participate in the talks to demonstrate its desire for peace. Ukraine shows readiness for dialogue at every meeting. “Changes will only come when Putin feels that his financial and military capabilities are so exhausted that he cannot continue the war. That’s when something might change. But it certainly will not be the result of these negotiations,” the former diplomat said.

"Kyiv is no longer waiting for Washington. President Zelenskyy’s strategic shift away from a dialogue with a volatile US leadership is a historic turning point. Ukraine has realized: we must—and we will—win even without the US. But let’s be clear: abandoning Ukraine is the greatest global blunder in American history. End of Leadership: If the US fails to stand by its word, no ally—from Europe to the Pacific—will ever trust American security guarantees again. Empowering Aggressors: By hesitating, Washington is not 'saving money'; it is inviting China, Iran, and Russia to rewrite global rules by force. The Victory is Ours: Ukraine is already winning on the battlefield because we have adapted and found new alliances. After 14 years in this fight, I see the irony: the United States is risking a historic strategic defeat not on the battlefield, but in its own corridors of power. Ukraine will prevail, but the era of American global leadership may end in the trenches of Donbas—through its own indecision.#Ukraine #USA #Trump #Victory

Hitler's army officers march in a parade on Red Square in Moscow as allies — video dated May 1, 1941. By the way, at that moment, World War II had been going on for 1.5 years.

"The 'diplomacy' of a real estate developer and a son-in-law is a joke that isn't funny. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have visited Moscow 8 times but keep 'getting seasick' on the train to Kyiv. They aren't diplomats; they are deal-makers trying to trade Ukrainian blood for 'infrastructure profits'. This is not just an insult to Ukraine—it is a historic disgrace for the United States. While they play business games, we fight for survival. Washington must realize: real peace is not a real estate deal.

America’s Arms Subscription Service Has Updated Its Terms and Conditions You signed up. You paid the fees. You attended every meeting, bought the branded merchandise, and told your neighbours you were completely safe. Now Washington has sent a letter. The United States has formally warned the UK, Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia that their weapons deliveries will be delayed. The Iran war is consuming American stockpiles at a rate nobody apparently planned for, which is impressive given that America has more defence planners than Estonia has people. This is exactly like ordering a sofa from a furniture company that seemed enormous and reliable, then receiving an email six months later explaining that your sofa has been temporarily redirected to a different customer. A customer they like more. In the Middle East. Estonia is already facing a complete suspension of HIMARS and Javelin deliveries. Not a delay. A suspension. That is not a late sofa. That is the furniture company calling to say they’ve sold your sofa, kept your money, and would you mind sitting on the floor for a while. Lockheed Martin is reportedly planning to increase Patriot interceptor production. In a few years. Which is rather like your car manufacturer announcing they will eventually produce brake pads, but probably not before you reach the cliff. The original warnings covered Baltic and Scandinavian nations. Now they’ve expanded west. The radius of broken promises is spreading like a guarantee written in disappearing ink. The lesson, if anyone in European defence ministries is paying attention, is straightforward. Never build your entire security architecture around a supplier who can simply decide one afternoon that he has other priorities. Particularly when that supplier is currently being run by a man who treats alliances like hotel loyalty programmes he can cancel between tweets. open.substack.com/pub/gandalv/p/…

Ma ei saa aru mida tähendab "Euroopa riigid peaksid koos valmistuma pärast sõda dialoogiks Venemaaga". Kas see tähendab pükste triikimist, agressiivselt telefonikõnede ootamist vms". Presidendilt tuleks küsida mida konkreetselt ta sellega silmas peab. delfi.ee/artikkel/12057…

🇪🇪🇺🇦 Fedorov: Scaling up strategic partnership and technological support with Estonia. 🔹 Estonia confirmed its decision to allocate at least 0.25% of GDP to help Ukraine — in 2026, this is about €110 million. 🔹 The main focus is the purchase of drones and countermeasures against UAVs. 🔹 A separate track is Estonia's co-leadership in the IT coalition together with Luxembourg. Estonia continues to be a driver of the digital transformation of the army. In total, €1.4 billion has been attracted for communication systems and technological solutions. Estonia's contribution this year is €5.7 million. 🔹 Also thanked for the additional $13 million contribution to the PURL mechanism.

When Zelensky met Trump at the White House for the first time since the latter’s re-election, Trump mocked him, remarking, among other things, that Ukraine “had no cards.” I would contend then that the United States had stripped Ukraine of those cards through calculated deceit.

Prince Harry: When Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons, America was part of international assurances that Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders would be respected. This is a moment for American leadership — moment for America to show it can honor its international treaty obligations.

For nearly four decades, NATO’s eyes in the sky have been American. The Boeing E-3 Sentry, a militarized 707 with a rotating radar dish on top, has been the alliance’s airborne early warning backbone since the 1980s. Washington built it. Washington sold it. Washington serviced it. That era ended this week. NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency has selected the Swedish Saab GlobalEye to replace all 14 of the alliance’s aging E-3 aircraft, in a deal worth around 5 billion euros. The contract goes to Sweden and Canada. Not a single American company involved. The decision follows the US cancelling its own E-7 Wedgetail procurement in June 2025, shifting instead toward satellite surveillance under the Golden Dome concept. When Washington pulled out, it assumed NATO would wait. NATO didn’t wait. The GlobalEye uses a fixed AESA radar rather than the E-3’s rotating dish, enabling faster target detection across air, sea, and land at ranges exceeding 550 kilometres, with endurance of over 13 hours per sortie. It is smaller, cheaper to operate, and requires fewer crew. Unit cost sits at roughly 550 million euros, against significantly higher estimates for the E-7. France had already ordered two. Poland and Germany were circling. Now NATO has formalised it for the whole alliance. Trump spent 14 months telling Europe to spend more on defence and rely less on America. Europe listened. He just didn’t expect them to mean it quite so literally. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Trump is once again groveling before Putin. Russia has been invited to the G20 summit in the US, – Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin. Inviting a country with 217,000 documented war crimes to the G20 summit in the US is not diplomacy – it's a disgusting trivialization of mass murder. While Putin and his cronies are already wanted in The Hague on arrest warrants, Trump grovels before the war-criminal state and rolls out the red carpet for it. This is a disgrace, a slap in the face to every Ukrainian child, every raped woman, and every bombed city. Anyone who brings mass murderers to the table instead of bringing them to justice has lost all moral legitimacy and is spitting on the graves of the victims.

Trump, the biggest failed strategist in US history, has plunged America into a strategic catastrophe. During his self-proclaimed “victory parade” against Iran, he squandered at least 45% of the US's precision-guided missile arsenal in just seven weeks—including half of all THAAD missiles and nearly 50% of Patriot interceptor missiles. This isn't some fake news blog reporting this, but CNN, citing a CSIS analysis and internal Pentagon data. The result? An “imminent risk” of munitions depletion should a real conflict erupt in the coming years—for example, with China. Trump has ruined the US defense capability for years to come. And for what? For nothing. No regime change in Iran. No destroyed nuclear program. No strategic breakthrough. Just a shaky ceasefire that gives the mullahs time to rearm while America stands naked. Trump, the great “Art of the Deal” master, has once again only produced hot air – and in doing so, burned through the most expensive and scarce weapons in the USA like a pubescent boy with fireworks.

The US debt just crossed $39 trillion. It is growing at $7.5 billion a day. Interest payments alone hit $1.2 trillion last year. More than defence. More than Medicare. And it buys absolutely nothing. No roads. No hospitals. No future. Five years ago the number was $11 trillion lower. The Congressional Budget Office now projects deficits above 6% of GDP every single year for the next decade. Empires rarely fall in a day. They get hollowed out first. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

There are, at this moment, precisely zero nuclear reactors under construction in the United States. In China there are thirty-six. Seven more will switch on this year. The last time America finished a reactor, it had taken eleven years and cost thirty-five billion dollars, roughly two and a half times what was promised. China builds them in five years for under three billion. Meanwhile, in Hefei, they are quietly bolting together a machine that weighs six thousand tonnes and is designed to briefly behave like the inside of the sun. The race isn’t close. The race is barely a race. It’s a country building the future while another holds meetings about it. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

It’s a fair question — how did the Vice President of the United States fly to Budapest, days before the election, in a clear attempt to boost Orbán's popularity, but instead end up assisting in a historic defeat? A visit by a Vice President of the United States is, under any circumstances, a major event — especially in Central and Eastern Europe, where pro-American sentiment runs deep regardless of which party is in the White House. That a visit may have contributed to a loss is, depending on your sympathies, either grimly ironic or darkly comic. The veep’s logic was clear. Orbán was the closest leader in Europe to Trump, so surely his people would welcome Washington's blessing? …continue reading at the link below 🔗⬇️
