@Kip_JD @sillycel2000 It makes 100% sense if you don't take it literally. There's plenty of examples of the term from before ASOIAF

It 100% makes sense in its original setting, that being a fictional fantasy world where seasons last literal years so you can say that to an innocent child who has only lived through summer, never winter. But for some reason people hallucinated like fucking ChatGPT that it is a centuries old saying from the American South which would make absolutely no sense because duh.

@sillycel2000 The only reason it is popular is because of Game of Thrones where it was used in the show to derogatorily refer to those born in the south for having never experienced a harsh winter, thus being naive and ignorant. People say it dates back to the 1800s but it's dubious at best.

@ericnave12359 @AydinPaladin @Aelthemplaer This is true but it always makes me wonder how bad people's ability to judge light sources and correct for color constancy is. It's always been blue/black to me (although I can see HOW it is interpreted otherwise); and the dress actually IS Blue/Black.

@AIX1720192 @WiwidPr0vess @ibmsulaymani Daniel literally barks non stop about "Wahhabis". You have idiots on this this app claiming all the time that the source of all the Ummahs problems are " Wahhabis". Stop projecting. Also pay Jizya to Donald Trump and leave the Muslims alone.

@WiwidPr0vess @ibmsulaymani No. Im not the one barking about one side non stop as if that piece of the puzzle solves anything. Also, Irans involvement in [insert whatever you want to cry about] pales in comparison to what the Arabs have done and continue to do

Meanwhile the UAE government: We are Ashʾarī/Māturīdī and we follow Ṣūfīsm Egypt is Ashʾarī, Jordan is Ashʾarī, the UAE is Ashʾarī, Morocco is Ashʾarī, yet Daniel Haqiqatjou never points this out when these governments act against Muslim interests or sign deals with the Jews. When the Wilāyat al-Faqīh regime of Irān was assisting the US in their destruction of ʿIrāq and Afghānistān, Haqiqatjou never brought their Twelver Shīʾīsm into it. Haqiqatjou only collectively blames Wahhābīs for the actions of certain governments, even when those governments openly oppose the daʾwah of Sh Muḥammad Ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb.
Daniel Haqiqatjou@Haqiqatjou

Former Israeli PM declaring UAE as Israel's best friend. Remember this when the Wahhabi dogs start crying about Iran bombing them "for no reason."

@dannyphiltalk I’m not threatened by atheism Islam or any other demonic lie In fact Islam itself is atheism they don’t believe in the one true God Jesus is God his resurrection is historical fact More evidence for his resurrection than Ceaser assassination btw

These Christian apologists, it seems to me, have totally shifted their attention to Islam - and look, I get it. It’s the second largest religion, and it’s an elaboration (whether accurate or not) on previous revelation that Christians already accept. But, from what I'm seeing, the decline of Christianity in the West isn’t on account of Islam - I think it’s apathy and secular culture. If they’re interested for reasons other than evangelism, fine. But if the goal is to preserve numbers or increase them, then their efforts are targeting at the wrong demographic. Christians are not leaving Christianity and becoming muslim in any significant way - they're becoming religiously unaffiliated.

@dannyphiltalk There’s no other religion that states categorically that Jesus Christ is not God, not the Son of God, never died and never resurrected in their main religious text! That’s my perspective.

@KingTaiwo_ @dannyphiltalk It does. You can see the effect of militant secularity in Communist countries and modern day Western countries where Secular causes dominant religious ones.

@dannyphiltalk Secularity doesn't kill and destroy humans, history, and culture like Islam does. You would be surprised how a nation can change with Islam within 10 years.

@dannyphiltalk It's because many apologists are secular first, Christian second. The vast majority of their arguments are secular presentism rather than theological "What about Aisha's age? What about women's rights? What about minority rights?" Etc etc.

@deli_cue @dannyphiltalk Not only did it take much longer for Egypt to become majority Muslim, Egypt was militarily conquered and ruled by Muslims for the entire duration. That's something that hasn't happened in any modern country.

Respectfully, I disagree. The UK has already seen a very big impact of islamization, even some cities in the US. We have seen Muslims move into countries, then politically and violently take over areas. Egypt had majority Coptic Christians and was flipped to majority Muslims within a generation or so. In the west, the best way to defend the faith right now is by combating Islam. It is indeed an imminent threat, and everyone who has read the Quran and seen the Quran practiced in other countries is fully aware of Islam as a big problem. We as Christians care to protect both Christians and non-Christians from this violent religion.
