@Bob_Janke They have those too, it's just a different product.
English

@GoldenLumbers Okay well that makes perfect sense but you DO have to plug in the charger for it to work? It won't hold a charge to charge your phone? Like a back up? That's what I thought it did. I'm obviously a moron
English

@Bob_Janke It's great if your phone jack is broken and don't want to pay $200 to get it fixed
English

So according to him, you have to carry your phone AND that thing AND a cable, and plug that in before you wrestle your phone into the exact spot it needs to be in so you can actually charge your phone instead of just plugging in your phone. You people today will apparently go to any length to make your lives as complicated as possible. It's mystifying

@AGoldFan The Canes have given up 163 goals this year. 104 of them have been scored on someone *other* than their starting goalie.
English

How many teams are above Carolina in the standings, exactly?
Justin Boyd@Jbtazman87
@AGoldFan Yea its pretty sad that the Canes play tired often here lately and yet there are some teams above us in the standings that find ways to keep going. I truly hope this upcoming break jolts this team down the stretch. The last 2 months of choked leads is for the birds
English

@AGoldFan When the Canes play their starting goaltender, they are the best team in the league by points percentage. Better than Tampa with Vas, better than Colorado with either of theirs.
There is room for improvement, but at full bore they are so hard to beat

Thoughts?

@Jon_Finkel Well ncaa rosters turn over completely every 2 years now so that's a little different

My theory on why/how sports viewing numbers are going up but we seemingly have less actual fans is this:
Live sports have become the ultimate 2nd screen viewing. People are watching more but paying attention way less.
Fantasy. Gambling. Posting. Checking email. Texting. Whatever...
Sports are ON but the casual fan is disappearing.
Casual to above-casual sports fans used to be able to name coaches, players, stars year-after-year in college sports back in the day. I mean, I can still name the Michigan Fab 5 or Duke's Laettner teams or the '95 UCLA squad: the O'Bannon Bros, Tyus Edney, Toby Bailey...
Casual fans knew the QB of Notre Dame every year. The top running backs and wide receivers. They watched these guys three years in a row before they turned pro.
Now?
No chance.
Many once-big-time NCAA hoops fans can't name 5 players total right now. And their kids can't either. My kid, who loves sports, can't either. Neither can his friends. I coach these sports. I'm telling you...
Most once-big-time NCAA football fans can't name 10 players total right now. And certainly no more than 2-3, if that, on each playoff team left.
NFL is the same way. Big teams. Big games. Casual second viewing for everyone but gamblers, fantasy players and die hard fans of teams.
Forget NBA and MLB... Try finding a sports fan under 16 who watches full, regular season games of either.
Try finding a high school or college kid who doesn't watch the games with their face glued to their phone following a parlay they set up on a gambling app.
Game on. Attention splintered. Across the board.
Just about all sports.
Very few people locked in, living play-by-play.
Simply... watching.
That's my theory.

@BarstoolWake Every time they need a bucket to win it looks like they not only don't have a play drawn up, but they've been forbidden from attempting any plays they may have learned in the past. Sometimes the ball handler hits a prayer 3, tho
English

@TheWapplehouse @tatsthatgohard Called a plumber about the inexplicable running water I heard in the walls. He charged me $150 bucks to turn off the hose I had turned on to fill up the pool the day before and forgot about.
English

@AGoldFan Do the Canes call up Givani Smith for a little "responsiveness" on Tuesday? And if not, why'd they give him a contract
English

For the 100th time. This is not an attempt to play the puck. It’s a violent strike at the legs designed to impact the shot. With zero regard for consequences. It’s a flat out dirty play.
Gino Hard@GinoHard_
Seth Jarvis exits the game in OT after crashing hard into the net 😰 No penalty was called on the play.
English

@josephperson With every game, their decision to enter the season with zero established pass catchers on the roster looks stupider and stupider
English

@1PantherPlace Adam Thielen was the guy Bryce could find for those late, must-have first downs; doesn't feel like they have that anymore. They're better in other areas but worse at that
English

@jhouse678 @gvtcontractor The govt puts a bunch of red tape in place in order to prevent govt officials from giving taxpayer money to themselves and their buddies. In doing so, the unintended consequence is that the market for those deals is very inefficient. Sucks, but it's tough to have it both ways
English

@gvtcontractor Yep, not knocking you or any enterprising person bidding.
No more than people taking tax deductions.
Govt. makes the rules, we just follow them.
English

We bid this job for the National Park Service 2 months ago and we completed it in 3 hours.
My Colombian team found the job on SAM.gov, sent in the bid, won and then found a local handyman to complete the job.
$8,000 - $12,000 contract price (can't share exact because people can dox me)
$750 in labor and materials
$500 bonus for Colombian team member
Not big enough to move the needle for this year but damn do I love easy money.

English

@emanningwrites You seen how many Russians the Canes have drafted the last few years? The front office certainly thinks they're a good fit for Europeans
English

@OneTrueZach You gonna be posting Avs stuff on the regular now?
English

He was set to be an RFA after this season. Not so much anymore as he is signed through the 2027-28 season.
