To visualise the gap between Market Value (what a player is paid) and Production Value (what their stats and impact suggest they are worth), the following graphic compares Draymond Green with other veteran and rising power forwards for the 2025-26 season. The "Legacy Tax" vs. "Surplus Value" This model uses the Win Share Valuation methodology ($4.1M per WS) adjusted for role-specific impact (Defence/Playmaking multipliers).

Do you have a model that gives an exact contract number appropriate for production/impact? Curious what Draymond’s number is at this point @Hooponomics

Steve Kerr has a 70.7% playoff winning percentage as head coach of the Warriors. That is the highest postseason win percentage in NBA history among coaches with a significant sample size. Higher than Red Auerbach. Higher than Phil Jackson. Higher than Pat Riley. Higher than Gregg Popovich. He had never coached a single NBA game before May 2014. He won a championship in his first season.

@BarryOnHere Exactly. It is the voting hangover. Watch how everything switches no matter how good he plays next season

SGA will win MVP again, which is completely uninspiring. His flopping sucks, he's not a great passer, rebounder or defender, yet none of these weaknesses really matter because his team has so much depth. He's never shown he can carry a team that isn't loaded, and he had chances to do so for several years! Great player in a great situation, but at this point, his resumé is more impressive than the actual player.

@PolymarketHoops Neither of those two teams might eventually make the finals. Even if the celtics do, the Lakers are definitely first round exits.

Feels like we’re in a collision course to see this Finals matchup this season… Who wins in a 7-game series? 👀

@LADEig He ordinarily should. But the MVVP is more of a political award than who is actually most valuable

The Milwaukee Bucks will either extend Giannis Antetokounmpo to a 4-year, $275M deal this October or TRADE him, per @ramonashelburne "One of two things will happen: Either he will be extended or he'll be traded." says co-owner Wes Edens.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged 41.5 points and 25.1 rebounds per game across his six seasons in the Warriors uniform. He scored 100 points in a single game as a Warrior. He averaged 50.4 points per game in one season as a Warrior. He won the MVP four times, three of them as a Warrior. The franchise that has Steph Curry's banners also had Wilt Chamberlain's prime.

In the 2014-15 season, both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 50 or more points in the same season. It was only the seventh time in NBA history that two teammates both reached 50 in the same year. The first time since 1994-95. Two players on the same team. Both capable of a 50-point game. At the same time. The league had no answer for it.

Draymond Green on the Warriors being "play-in magnets" "I’m sick of the play-in. It seems like we’re a play-in magnet... It sucks. I feel like every year we say, 'Yo, we want to stay away from the play-in,' and it’s like the play-in attracts us... It’s like we’re looking at the wall and spinning into it. We keep ending up back in this play-in for whatever reason... It doesn't f*cking matter. It is what it is. We are in the play-in." (Via @DraymondShow )

In 1990-91, Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin averaged a combined 72.5 points per game. That was the highest-scoring trio in NBA history at the time. They played together for exactly two seasons. All three are now in the Hall of Fame. The Warriors broke them up after the opening game of year three, trading Richmond to Sacramento. Don Nelson later admitted it was a mistake. Every Warriors fan still feels it.

The Golden State Warriors won the first championship in professional basketball history. In 1947, as the Philadelphia Warriors, they won the inaugural Basketball Association of America title. The league became the NBA two years later. Every franchise in the sport traces its history back to that first season. The Warriors won it. Before Wilt. Before Rick Barry. Before Steph. The franchise was already a champion.

Rick Barry is the only player in professional basketball history to lead the NCAA, the ABA, and the NBA in scoring. Three different leagues. Three different eras. -He led the NCAA in scoring at the University of Miami in 1965. -He led the ABA with the Oakland Oaks in 1969. -He led the NBA with the Warriors in 1967. When he retired, he was sixth on the combined all-time professional scoring list.
