@WindTechNColor Not to mention that it's also annoying that when they give new locations they end up being a Green Hill Zone with minimum tweaks (Superstars isn't so bad but the chessboard pattern was unnecessary lol)

this series is about a character that likes to go on adventures and exploring and doesn't like sitting in one place, it's literally all about journey and discovery and a big appeal of this franchise are the cool ass new locations

I will never understand Sonic fans’ problem with Green Hill, that’s like the main area in Sonic It’s like if Mario fans were upset because the new 3D Mario had the Mushroom Kingdom

Back in the day games didn't come out so frequently and they were generally shorter, so you replayed.
Now I can download new games daily w/ 20-80 hr campaigns that I only have time to beat once.
Would you play an indie platformer ONCE and consider it done and just move on?

@iam_crisi You could instead make it a plot like the anime Pokémon movies then, with a self-contained plot revolving around mysteries regarding a specific Legendary Pokémon and a highly personal story connecting to it, but...

The overall plot of an actual Pokémon journey encompasses a LOT, and it'd be hard to fit into a one movie without giving it Mario Galaxy Movie tier pacing issues
The detective plot feels like it has just enough to give the world time to breathe

EPIC was released 13 years ago today. Director Chris Wedge spent eight years developing Epic, working in a vacuum with no idea what other animators were doing or what environment the film would be released in, sealed off from other studios’ work.

@jui_cyapple I love the mystery plot too, it was such a good premise for a movie like this and it brought so much of the world out

my standards are probably really low but I still consider this movie part of the top 10 best video game movies out there. Just the fact it has the balls to do the realistic looking direction for the Pokemon is nothing short of impressive, on top of adapting a less known game.
