USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley fired a final-round 64 to finish in a tie for fifth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He's now World No 11 and close to emulating the Bay Hill event's founder by becoming a playing captain. The last time that happened - 1963 - Palmer led his troops to a comprehensive victory in Atlanta. Is that a bad omen for the Europeans? Or could it play to our advantage? The emotional toll of being captain is surely enough on its own! Bradley will not use a wildcard pick on himself, but has said he will play if he qualifies.

It’s looking like another golf course lost to development. It’s becoming a familiar story—golf courses making way for housing. Whilst we understand the need for new homes, it often feels like golf courses are an easy target.
