@AddictedChris @HenryOCarroll It was explained to me many years ago like this.. do you believe you are truly alcoholic? Yes ..if so then God’s will for you is to not drink on a daily basis. And how do you do that? Go meetings, help another alcoholic and give back. ,,lmk. If this helps 💕

Had a mental health nosedive for reasons unknown to me. Stayed in for a few days feeling sorry for myself. Yesterday, an old friend called me, drunk and sad, asking for help. Talked for a long time. Pondered if I should go out of the house and meet up. Called my sponsor to ask what I should do. 'Ask your higher power.' 'I don't know how to do that, the higher power stuff is what I have you for.' Ended the call inconclusive. Decided to follow my gut and got out of the house to meet up. Glad I did. Was reminded of how far I've come, what I can do for other people, and it got me out of the rut I was in. Back on track.

@UnashamedAlc Congratulations!! That is a bfd ( big f ing deal)!!! I been single mom my whole recovery. My oldest was 4 when got sober n 12 yrs between my kids and my son born in recovery. It’s ok to cry! Crying doesn’t need an explanation!! Idk how long sober but you did it!!💕

So now I am trying to organize and do it all alone and taking forever not to mention toll free n my body that already has chronic pain plus some new injuries. #spoonies please tell me what you do to help give yourself more grace!! Need support & suggestions.

I been struggling to get my house back in order after helping numerous ppl over years and needing to downsize. It is so frustrating knowing what I need done would take able bodied person few hours. #Spoonies can you relate? I got resentful couldn’t get help or even hire!!

Today was my first experience with @UPS in Florida and will absolutely be my last. I just walked out of my local location at 4:32pm after having a male associate threaten to assault me and call me profanities in front of multiple other customers. Why did he do this? Because I simply asked a different associate who I was actually speaking with how to send back an oversized item that they delivered to. Twice the male associate jumped into our conversation being extremely rude. As I was walking he out he called me a "mother f***", and said "make me come over there and bust your a** you little bi***". That is an exact quote. My response was "I'm sorry customer service may not be your strong suit, but there's no reason to call me those names and threaten me in front of other customers for asking a simple question." He then walked out from behind the desk to start coming towards me before my husband had to step in front of me. Absolutely insane.

Update: I am alive. I'm sober. And I'm nervous about starting a very intensive outpatient mental health program tomorrow. I've got a lot of the core skills down, but this exhaustion and black cloud that is my shadow has got to go. It's the anchor keeping me from being truly free.

Happy Saturday all!! I had to share a few of my #chronicillness #ChronicPain experiences this week to share a laugh first one is how far from curb I always am getting home because my pain so high I guess my brain can’t fathom distance I been bedbound n realized was multitasking

@ndlovu_anele @JohnTimmons1 @cgraw1 She called 24 hrs later n fired me because her friend felt 90 meetings in 90 days was too overwhelming. Without laughing I said ok you free to find someonelse. When she was vomitting for days detoxing as moderate drinkiner 24 hrs before. I trust those that been before me 💯

@GollyGlam @JohnTimmons1 @cgraw1 I read the literature but I guess different groups have their own interpretation. In the meetings I’ve been in, the 12 steps is the only way that is deemed to keep you sober. I was told by my former sponsor that I’m not taking the programme seriously and would fall off the wagon

Recently I had the worst craving to drink I’ve ever had in my 3 years of sobriety. I had an non alcoholic beer instead. It helped me work thru my craving. #RecoveryPosse what is your opinion on non alcoholic drinks?

@ndlovu_anele @JohnTimmons1 @cgraw1 If you can be sober and not need AA that’s great. If you want to drink drink but if you want a way to stay sober and get down to true cause snd effects. aA works. Just my two cents. I recently got brand new gal sponsee n shared my experience n expectations as sponsee

@ndlovu_anele @JohnTimmons1 @cgraw1 Be spent helping women who want to practice program. We watch so many ppl follow same paths to relapse and death. Tooooo many!! Im grateful for every sponsor I have had!! To me n my sobriety it is the firm foundation of that relationship helps me stay sober almost 29yrs.

@ndlovu_anele @JohnTimmons1 @cgraw1 We put our effort , time, experience,strength n hope into sponsees that they do not often realize how much was freely given to them by sponsors til they do it themselves. But if new person not wanting to do suggested things then they can easily find another sponsor n my time can
