It's why I don't like calling dyslexia a "learning difference." I would rather openly acknowledge the challenge that it presents.

In NYC, teachers are now writing report cards. One item on these is a Guided Reading Level. I was asked to do a correlation between the words in the books used to assign a GR Level and what was taught in the phonics program. Here is what I found. What does the GR level tell us?

Brain Veins as Light Detectors: A New Path to Deep Brain Imaging Researchers developed a groundbreaking method to detect bioluminescence deep within the brain by engineering blood vessels to serve as light detectors. This innovative approach utilizes a bacterial protein that causes blood vessels to dilate in response to light. This dilation is then captured by MRI, allowing for precise localization of bioluminescent signals.
