How big is a baby hippo? Join Bumpy for his morning weigh-in and find out! This time, our solid little fellow logged a sturdy 46 kilograms / 101 pounds – he’s gaining about three kilograms a week. Bumpy is one of our newest arrivals. His mother died, likely in a territorial fight defending her baby’s life. He spent at least a day huddled by her body before the Kenya Wildlife Service rescued him and brought him into our care. Our little chap emerges from his bedroom, sheds his pyjama blanket, and takes a sun-dappled stroll to his personal pool… where he promptly settles back down to sleep in the sand. @buddy_gizmo My sweethearts 🧡🧡 so adorable, fluffy & cute! Not quite the floofy lions they were to become. But Buddy already knew how to write, he paid attention in class, unlike his brother, who thought school was for careening around hallways!
