Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see this mentioned much when people talk of their favourite Zep albums. Don’t know why because it’s a topper. The bombastic rush of the opening song into the mystic splendour of The Rain Song is one of their great one-two punches. The whole album flows wonderfully from track to track, though. Not a fan of The Crunge, but the rest is excellent. Aye, even D’yer Mak’er.

If someone asks you to make a playlist of red dirt/texas/appalachian country music… what are 2-3 songs you’re using to introduce them to it? My brain is spinning from all the possibilities…please help!

@crossbartley Love Panic, see my header. I think it’s fair to say they’re in their own league. They don’t fit perfectly in “this generation” but then again they don’t really fit it any box you might try to put them in

@GoodTunesAlways Widespread Panic, is multi-gen but denying their power, longevity, and quality of their craft is not right. They're in their own league I guess.

Such an underrated Pink Floyd song. Super cool bluesy vibe, and using a dog’s howl as an instrument is awesome.

@GoodTunesAlways This would be very close to my top, as well. However, I’d put a little more rock in with RHCP and PJ.

@WaymoreJennings Love both Waylon and Sturgill. Don’t love this take, artists trying new things is cool.

Tell me when Waylon changed his name for Blue Skies or something? or tell me when he tried to make Disco in the late 1970s? Waylon was one of the greatest ever, Sturgill is an ordinary artist after his 3rd album.

@WaymoreJennings Every time Sturgill opens his mouth It’s country no matter what kind of music he’s playing. He still has that Waylon draw.
