Atiku has no plans to step down for Peter Obi. He is likely to influence the primaries with significant financial backing. Peter Obi is wealthy but not known for cutting corners. Aregbesola, David Mark, Okonkwo, and Dino are aligned with Atiku. If Peter Obi loses the primaries and decides to run under another party, a repeat of the 2023 presidential election outcome is likely. Atiku does not see Peter Obi as politically superior; rather, he appears to be leveraging Obi’s influence to gain power. Historically, Atiku has never stepped down for anyone, and it is unlikely he will start now.

What’s certain is that the US Government has a big problem. It looks like a giant paper tiger that doesn’t dare deploy its high-tech Navy near a hostile shore. What, then, is the good of a navy? The US government has already lost this war. It’s punched a tar baby and can’t withdraw its fist. It’s further bankrupting itself, precipitating the Greater Depression, risking WW3, and destroying its moral standing.
