@ReverendRunt @dervishconan From 1969-1991 somalia was communist. From 1960-1969 and 2012-2026 it was capitalist. Both ideologies failed Somalia. USSR supported an imperialist Ethiopia that was occupying and destroying Somali galbeed (Ogaden). Castro would have supported Israel if they were communist too.

Brother Amin Abdullah was the security guard who was martyred at the Islamic Center of San Diego. He gave his life to protect the lives of countless students and congregants.

The police responded to calls after a gunman opened fire at the #IslamicCenter of San Diego in Clairemont, located at 7050 Eckstrom Avenue. The Turkish government’s decision to publicly reaffirm support for @HassanSMohamud immediately after the expiration of his constitutional mandate, at a moment when Somalia faces a contested political transition and no agreed electoral framework, sends a deeply troubling political signal.
Somalis have long valued the historic relationship with Türkiye, built on solidarity and mutual respect. That relationship must remain anchored in support for the Somali people, constitutional governance, and inclusive political consensus, not personalized alignment with a single political figure during a fragile and contested transition.
Somalia’s stability cannot be sustained through external endorsement of expired mandates or concentration of power. Durable peace and stability require legitimacy, broad political agreement, accountable institutions, and public trust.

A CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL REASSESSMENT ON SOMALIA AND RECOGNITION OF SOMALILAND!
The international community, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, must recognize that Somalia’s political crisis has entered a dangerous phase marked by contested legitimacy, growing instability, and increasing authoritarian tendencies.
There are rising concerns over political intimidation, institutional collapse, and expanding foreign influence within Somalia, from actors pursuing strategic and economic interests. In particular, Turkey behaves as the NEW COLONIAL POWER OF SOMALIA!!
In response, the international community should consider targeted sanctions, travel restrictions, asset freezes, and a reassessment of current security framework and partnerships with Somalia.
It should also explore renewed United Nations-led international stewardship to prevent further destabilization, by recalling the important international role that existed during the UN-administered transitional /TRUSTEESHIP period of the 1950s in Somalia Italiana.
At the same time, the world should give serious consideration to recognizing the Republic of Somaliland: a peaceful, democratic, and stable nation whose recognition would strengthen regional stability, democratic accountability, and long-term security in the Horn of Africa.
Time for a new International policy approach on Somaliland and Somalia!!
