Nigeria Bleeds Arriving back from my visit to Kano this evening, I received disturbing news and images from Jos of a painful attack at the Angwa Rukuba area, Jos North, Plateau State. The recurring loss of innocent lives in Plateau State reminds us, yet again, of the insecurity innocent citizens face in our nation without any protection. These continuous devastating headlines are a reminder of a nation that is steadily normalising the loss of its own people. It is unacceptable that these attacks happen with such frequency, and even more unacceptable that there seems to be no decisive, sustained strategy to end them. No nation or leader normalises tragedy. The safety of Nigerian lives must become non-negotiable, we cannot continue to mourn what should have been prevented. Enough is enough. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones. May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and their memories never be forgotten. I pray that we get a country where the loss of lives is no longer a recurring reality. We cannot continue like this. -PO

@ManLikeIcey Mr man stop projecting. By hierarchy Atiku is the leader of the party, so it's normal for people to see him. Sometimes, so sound so shallow, politically

@GotCashWorld @Timi_The_Law Power was not meant to remain in d south beyond 2015 since Jonathan had already used 6years in office. Supporting a Northern Candidate was the right thing in order not to distort pwr rotation. Tinubu's move was logical given Jonathan's loss of grip on his administration.

@nuhuyohanna39 Realistically, Atiku/Obi will win NW, NE, SE and will be very competitive in SS, NC. But I don't trust OBJ boys in the north ( ie RMK, El Rufai and Ribadu). Atiku candidacy will face many challenges. I saw this in 2019 and 2023. But you see Obi/RMK, if Atiku back them, it can go

Atiku may not be an obstacle if the Obi/RMK ticket proves itself worthy of such a sacrifice My calculations is, how much can we win the North with such ticket if at all it can? The map is NW, NE and SE with wide margin while maintaining competitive numbers in the SS and the NC
OTUNBA@ManLikeIcey

Peter Obi / Kwankwaso ticket will not fly, don’t get too carried away and get heartbroken eventually, it’s better to accept the reality now. The obstacle to that ticket is Atiku Abubakar, if he steps down, the ticket can fly but he’s not ready to step down. Facts are stubborn.

@Soyoye_Psi @Timi_The_Law Tinubu was the pawn in 2015. Obi is even fighting to get the ticket so that power remains in the South. In 2015, Yorubas sold everything to the north. We witnessed it

@kayodebakre8 This is how a slave reasons. Funding a political party is not a small thing rightly, but it's necessarily from govt money. So don't gloat yet, the money will come

They asked a Former Senate President if he would join ADC. He said no. He asked if they have any gov that can fund them. The truth is funding is majorly through govt money. No one uses hard earned money for such venture. So ADC will face serious funding problems

If you are watching the PDP National Convention and your blood pressure didn’t rise small out of sheer political shock, then honestly, you may need urgent clinical evaluation. What unfolded was not just a convention — it was a full-scale demonstration of political machinery. From the coordination to the crowd management, from the optics to the energy in the arena, it had all the ingredients of a party that still understands the theatre of power. The atmosphere was less of a routine party gathering and more of a political carnival with strategic undertones. The turnout was massive, the participation was broad-based, and the representation across the 36 states and the FCT sent a very loud message: PDP may be bruised, but it is far from buried. This is what political structure looks like. Not noise on social media. Not press statements typed with trembling fingers. Not “online presidency” powered by ring light and hashtags. Politics, especially in Nigeria, is not won by vibes and viral tweets. It is won by structure, mobilisation, delegate management, territorial presence, and institutional memory. And whether one likes PDP or not, what was on display was a reminder that serious politics is still ground game, not just grammar. Many people have confused internet excitement for electoral viability. But conventions like this expose the brutal truth: you cannot substitute organisation with outrage. In this country, power does not answer to aesthetics — it answers to architecture. © Adegboyega Michael Ademisoye.

Kwankwaso to ADC isn’t a good political move for him but for the momentum of the party. Unless he joined to use the platform to stop Abba from getting re elected. He won’t be the Presidential candidate nor the VP candidate But it’ll help boost the party’s momentum.

Today in Abuja, I joined family, friends, and associates in prayer for the repose of Haijiya Umma El-Rufai at the funeral of the late mother of my dear brother, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. I extend my sincere condolences to Mallam Nasir @elrufai and the entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May you find strength in the memories you shared and comfort in the support of those around you. I pray that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants her eternal rest, and admits her into Aljannah Firdaus. May He also grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Moments like this remind us of our shared humanity, beyond politics, ethnicity, and religion, and the need to continue to build a society anchored on compassion, unity, and mutual respect. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. -PO
