EXECUTION-STYLE SHOTGUN AMBUSH ENDS WITH THREE GANGSTERS JAILED Three men have been jailed after carrying out a terrifying execution-style shotgun attack on a man sitting in his car on a quiet residential street in Croydon. The victim, a man in his 30s, was ambushed in New Addington in May 2025 when a black saloon car pulled alongside him. One of the passengers jumped out armed with a sawn-off double-barrelled shotgun and fired at point-blank range. Realising he was about to be attacked, the victim dived into the driver’s seat moments before the first blast smashed through his windscreen, narrowly missing him. The gunman then ran around the vehicle and fired a second shot through the driver’s window, striking him in the chest. Despite suffering life-threatening injuries, the victim survived and has since recovered. A rapid Met Police investigation uncovered CCTV footage, forensic evidence, mobile phone data and eyewitness accounts that exposed the roles of all three attackers. The court heard Tevin Nzita, 29, was the gunman who carried out the shooting. Anthony Da Sousa, 30, drove the getaway car, while Christopher Da Sousa, 27, tracked the victim’s movements, gave directions and helped plan the attack. Detectives also discovered the gang hid the getaway car under a cover before repairing the damage and fitting cloned number plates in an attempt to avoid detection. At Woolwich Crown Court, Nzita was jailed for 25 years, Anthony Da Sousa received 15 years, and Christopher Da Sousa was sentenced to four years for his role in the attempted murder plot. Police described the attack as a planned retaliation carried out with complete disregard for human life, warning innocent residents could easily have been caught in the crossfire.
