When service members report violations of law, serious abuses, or dangers that threaten the public, they are honoring their oath to defend the Constitution. This doesn't mean every form of speech is protected. The distinction here is between lawful disclosures through protected channels about serious wrongdoing, which the law protects, and unlawful speech that reveals classified information or violates clear rules, which the law does not.
