@GovanhillGo It's a cracker, isn't it! As far as I can tell, it used to be part of a printworks, maybe @is_glasgow has some more history info?..

@GovanhillGo Fingers crossed the new development will lead to both the exchange and the 'Cook St Castle' being restored..

@johnadgrady Irony is you wont be able to see that lovely window when the extension is built.

This sounds good but it would be good if we didn’t wait for catastrophe before we do something. Exactly the same happened with Laurieston ‘masterplan’ after the India Buildings. Can we afford to be reactive all the time?

📢Following comprehensive safety checks and a full site assessment by Glasgow City Council, @NetworkRailSCOT will be able to partially reopen Glasgow Central (platforms 7-15) from Wednesday, 18 March.
We'll run as many services as possible, but with a reduced number of platforms available, and limited entry and exit points for customers, this will not allow for the return of trains on all routes.
The following services will run from Wednesday, 18 March:
🔵Ayr and Glasgow Central – a half hourly service, calling at all stations between Paisley Gilmour Street – Kilwinning (Johnstone / Milliken Park / Howwood / Lochwinnoch / Glengarnock / Dalry).
🔵Gourock and Glasgow Central – an hourly service, calling at all stations.
🔵Wemyss Bay and Glasgow Central – an hourly service, calling at all stations.
🔵Kilmarnock and Glasgow Central – a half hourly service, calling at all stations (integrated with normal Carlisle/South Ayrshire services).
🔵East Kilbride and Glasgow Central – a half hourly service.
🔵Lanark and Glasgow Central – an hourly service.
ScotRail staff will be on hand at Hope Street to guide and support customers to and from platforms. This will include entry and exit for customers via an entrance on Hope Street, known as the carriage driveway, which is used during special events and is normally for vehicular access.
The following entrances to the station will remain closed:
⛔Hope Street (adjacent to Waterloo Street).
⛔Gordon Street.
⛔Union Street.
A full timetable of services at the low level platforms, which serve routes from Cumbernauld, Whifflet, Larkhall, and Motherwell to Dalmuir, Balloch, and Milngavie, resumed on Wednesday, 11 March, and they will continue to operate.
📱Customers are being advised to check their journey before travelling, and can do so via the ScotRail website, app, and through its social media channels.

@MyGlasgowCC Queens Park has a whole new Pond. So big the ducks have come over . Pollokshaws Rd side near the gates.

English

@WeegieJambo Yeah its fine but on the bus and subway you dont need an app.
English

@GovanhillGo I find the Tap & Pay app for trains works well. You can manually end a journey when no gate at a station.
English

Ok so you can already do this on the bus, and now the underground, but on the tran i need an app because there aren’t gates at every platform and theres still three pricing structures.. glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/scottish-…
