Today’s announcement by the @Interior is incredible news. Having worked with (then Governor) Secretary @DougBurgum for years on Western water issues, I really appreciate his leadership as Secretary to designate these funds for Wyoming. This investment in Wyoming’s water infrastructure through the One Big Beautiful Bill will provide a critically needed solution for the Goshen Irrigation District, who have worked tirelessly since the catastrophic tunnel collapse in 2019. The funding will ensure that current and future irrigators will not be burdened with tens of millions of dollars in federal loans. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! And the @POTUS's Administration along with Wyoming’s Congressional Delegation (@SenJohnBarrasso @SenLummis @RepHageman ) deserve our heartfelt thanks for their support. tinyurl.com/22fxnstx

Today, I exercised my veto power on SF 101, the Second Amendment Protection Act. Despite its name, this bill does not safeguard our fundamental Second Amendment rights, which I have always fully supported. Instead, it contains problematic provisions that undermine law enforcement charged with keeping our communities and streets safe from violent crimes. Wyoming Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police expressed serious concerns about the bill. These concerns were reinforced by the @POTUS Administration's (@ICEgov) federal law enforcement officials, who cautioned that the legislation could severely hinder vital cooperation between Wyoming's law enforcement and federal agencies. This cooperation is essential for combating violent crime, firearms trafficking, and cartel operations. I shared these concerns, which ultimately led to my decision to veto the bill. #Backtheblue Read my letter here: shorturl.at/Dvm7o

Today I signed the Human Heartbeat Act (HEA 29) into law, reaffirming my view that life is sacred. I resoundingly share the determination to defend the lives of unborn children and support the intentions behind the Human Heartbeat Act. Yet, I share concerns with many others, regrettably, that this Act represents another well-intentioned but likely fragile legal effort with significant risk of ending in the courts rather than in lasting, durable policy. The solution I had hoped for is to put the issue before a vote of the people of Wyoming from whom, according to Article 1 of our Wyoming Constitution, all governmental power derives. While I support the upright, moral intentions behind HEA 29, I believe this Act very likely puts us back in the all too familiar and unfortunate territory of pro-life litigation. Rather than finding a remedy that saves the unborn, I fear we have only added another chapter to the sad saga of repeatedly trying to force a specific solution that will not uphold the legal scrutiny of the courts.

It was a great day for Wyoming in Washington, D.C. today as I joined @realDonaldTrump officials who signed Wyoming's Healthy Choices Waiver. As I have said before, Wyoming taxpayers expect their dollars to support food assistance that helps families put healthy food on the table. This waiver is about supporting healthier communities in Wyoming and is a reasonable, commonsense step that aligns the program with its original purpose. Wyoming is leading in a way that is thoughtful, measured, and focused on better outcomes for families. Thank you to @SecKennedy and @SecRollins for your work.

The 2026 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast was recently held at Little America, featuring keynote speaker and five-time Entertainer of the Year, @lukebryan. Addressing more than 600 attendees, he shared heartfelt reflections on maintaining a positive attitude and persevering through life’s toughest seasons. Jennie and I are especially grateful to the generous donors who made this meaningful event possible.

I sat down with Wyoming's media this week for my second roundtable press conference during the Legislative Session. I appreciate the hard work of these reporters as they cover the day to day actions of our government. There is a lot going on and their reporting helps keep all of us informed.

Good meeting with Ambassador Yamada at the @JapanEmbDC while I was in Washington last week. Wyoming and Japan have a lot to offer each other in trade, investment and energy, as well as research, critical minerals, and much more. It's always my pleasure to sit down with a great nation like Japan who want to buy Wyoming's products. Ride for the brand!

It was my pleasure to sit down with @NewsHour in Washington D.C. today to talk about how we get it right in the Cowboy State. Wyoming works best when we make our decisions locally, as I said in my State of the State. The best government is closest to the people - with as little federal interference as possible. pbs.org/newshour/show/…

Our @uwyoedu contributes to growing our economy. The revitalized College of Agriculture supports the Ag Initiative. The School of Energy Resources keeps our fossil fuel industries relevant. The Schools of Computing and Engineering are leaders in various fields. And the College of Education and Community Colleges lead the essential work in education and CTE. Now is not the time to ignore the vision set forth in our Wyoming Constitution regarding our land grant University. This is a case where simply cutting a budget won’t lead to improvement, but a dialogue could. I encourage the Wyoming House to restore my recommendation. Go Pokes!! Ride for the Brand!🤠

A strong Wyoming depends on healthy families, healthy seniors, and care close to home. But rural healthcare is strained — from OB services to EMS to rising costs. This budget strengthens our provider network: more support for disability services, expanded home health for high-needs kids, better maternity access, and community programs that help seniors stay home longer. And with President Trump’s Rural Health Transformation Program under the One Big Beautiful Bill, Wyoming can modernize healthcare statewide. Healthy communities are essential —and this budget helps every Wyomingite, from newborns to great-grandparents, get the care they need. The Essentials: Strong Families. Strong Communities. Strong Wyoming.

Do we have the courage to build Wyoming together? Our obligation today is to leave our state and her people better positioned to meet the challenges of an increasingly complex, challenging yet bright, future. This budget is a roadmap to the future emphasizing the essential principles necessary to keep our families strong. Promote a solid economy. Support strong communities. Maintain educational excellence. Develop our natural resources responsibly. And care for all of our citizens. Our founders taught us that freedom depends on balance. On neighbors helping neighbors. On leaders who remember they are temporary caretakers, not owners of a place. They believed prosperity grows from steady hands, not quick applause. We would do well to keep their counsel. And if we do that the story told about this Legislature will not be one of what we tore down but of what we had the courage to build together. Footage Courtesy of @WyomingPBS.

I am so grateful to the Cody Chamber of Commerce for hosting last night's Essentials Budget Community Forum. We had a tremendous turnout and solid discussions regarding our state budget process. We also covered topics ranging from water and elections to agriculture, education, wildfire, and ways to grow Wyoming's economy for future generations. My thanks to the Chamber and all who were able to participate. #Wyoming
