Van 2000 t/m 2025 steeg het BPP in Nederland met 122%. Een groot deel van het BBP gaat naar de overheid, in 2025 was dat bijna 45% van het BBP - in 2000 was dat nog 37%.
Daarmee steeg het bedrag dat de overheid over de balk gooit (overheidsuitgaven) tussen 2000 en 2025 met 171%. Veel meer gestegen dan het BBP dus.
Overigens ligt het in bureaucratisch Frankrijk met 58% nog veel hoger.
