As cities grow, so does the double/triple burden of malnutrition, but this is preventable. Housing must go beyond shelter to include food systems, WASH, and healthy urban environments where people thrive with dignity. #AUF2026

Just concluded the 2nd African Urban Forum in Nairobi, themed #AdequateHousingforAll. As a Director at Gen Rwot Enterprises Limited, and as a Global Health Nutritionist, I engaged with policymakers and planners on integrating health & nutrition into urban development.

With every module, I keep realizing: there’s truly no other place I’d rather be than here, growing and being refined for such a time as this.

What are you willing to die for? What is your burden? How do you channel that burden to serve in your promised land? We cannot afford to trade our souls for short-lived gratification. We must stand firm rooted in integrity, excellence, wisdom, courage, and truth.

This month has been nothing short of impactful and thought-provoking. Each facilitator has truly brought their A-game sharing deeply from their experiences and guiding us through every topic with such intentionality that no stone was left unturned.

In our second session, Mr. Patrick Mugenyi CEO, Bethell Group has challenged our class of Next Generational Leaders to pay attention to key global issues such as; shift in world power , national wealth among others. This is to help leaders to have an impact not only locally.

My key takeaway from the session, turned into a question, is, are we making decisions with the next Generation in mind or with a short-term benefit/satisfaction in mind? And attention to global issues broadens perspective, sharpens vision, and equips us to lead with foresight.

It’s time for young people to step up not to complain, but to act with knowledge, wisdom, integrity, and courage. Uganda’s abundant resources can only be transformed through sustainable systems and solutions built by learning from, not dwelling on, past mistakes. Glad to part.

Good nutrition at the household level, empowering mothers with health knowledge will break intergenerational cycles of NCDs. Prevention starts at the table, not the hospital and therefore, we all ought to be change agents by adopting healthy lifestyles and raising awareness.

On Saturday, I had the privilege of attending the @NextGLeader program with Prof. Vincent Anigbogu, an enlightening session that stirred my curiosity to learn more. One thing for sure is that leadership is not about titles but about integrity, courage & faithfulness to God.
