I caught Covid by spending about 10 mins in the same room as an infectious person, so this 4 hr rule seems like a terrible idea to me.

@elissamalespina I love this. We have a three week period in the public library I work in and they can renew twice on line or call as long as there is no further reserve. I know it's different to school obv but so many patrons are so happy for that time frame.

It all feels very insignificant at the moment, but after a heartfelt chat with my husband to bring me back down to Earth (and knowing that it's going to start appearing online now anyway) I thought I'd share my cover of THE BRAVEST WORD today. No bells, no frills... #BookTwitter

@LindsayGalvin My dad learned at 60. Persistence and a typing program. He kept at it. He has huge hands and found the keys too small but he didn’t give up. You can do it

@kateburge It’s the f’ing pits! Hooley Dooley. I thought we were going okay last term but the realisation that I couldn’t freeform for 6 months if kid eventually needed to return to normal school. So doing school-set home learning and insisting hated things are completed equals bad times

Captain’s log: home learning day 1 term 4. The horror. We returned to home learning with what appeared to be Term 3’s greatest hits. Replaying all the meltdowns we knew and feared. We are knocked off course. Spinning closer to the sun. Fearful of how we will survive this term

Sad and angry today until I remembered the time my kid’s substitute teacher showed them a youtube video of the picture book Corduroy without watching it first

Anybody else get most of their best ideas when the are the least convenient to work on?? Like I haven’t been more than five metres from a member of my family for weeks unless I am at the supermarket, but sure, I have so much peaceful space and time for writing

Oh thank god I’ve come up with another book idea so now I’m working on my Christmas Island kids book, a grown-up crime novel and a YA horror. I’ll just fit all that in easily around home learning, going to work and my important time staring into the middle distance and sighing
