For me, an uplifting moment is watching this tribute to the legendary South African singer Johnny Clegg. Musicians came together to honour his music. So sad he died last year. This is the fantastic people of South Africa at their best. youtube.com/watch?v=WKWEEp…

Excellent report by @CliveMyrieBBC on tonight’s @BBCNews from Royal London Hospital. Really brought alive the challenge facing NHS staff and patients.

The England v South Africa game in Cape Town is definitive proof that reducing Test Matches to four days is utterly ridiculous.

The death of Johnny Clegg was one of the saddest moments of 2019. He was an outstanding ambassador for South Africa.

To me, #JohnnyGlegg wrote the soundtrack for the society we should aspire to. A giant tree in our forest has fallen.

My thoughts are with the people of Lockerbie today. 30 years ago tonight, I was one of the first BBC reporters to arrive at this terrible tragedy. I can still remember the awful scenes. Services mark Lockerbie bombing 30th anniversary bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…
