I'm appalled that the Planning Committee has agreed to approve the demolition of this historic warehouse on Oswald Street. The last vestige of this street's history at the heart of the Port of Glasgow is now to be wiped out for a speculative hotel development. Shocking decision.

@is_glasgow Too many buildings unfortunately end up in that category, especially from what we've seen in Glasgow. Super disheartening, and we'd love to see this "norm" drastically change. Sadly, we absolutely agree with you, but also hope we're wrong too!

@GrandBequest Sadly, I strongly suspect it will be classified as 'not economically viable to repair', in part due to the years of neglect it has suffered even before today's fire. Fingers-crossed I turn out to be wrong, though, and it gets re-instated.
