Now that you mention it, OG Dark Raiden is even more important to MK than I remembered. He set events into motion in MK9, started the whole NR era.
All NR Dark Raiden did was behead Shinnok and kill a bunch of demons.

@Guileena__ The most frustrating part is that "Dark Raiden" is mostly remembered by MK fans as the character from Deception and Armageddon.
NRS Raiden went Dark at the very end of MKX, literally disappeared 25 minutes into MK11 and never returned. No impact.
