@joetclarke @GrandioseDays Exactly that. If you're so busy you need the help, then you don't have the capacity to train them to help. Get a contractor to help in the short term and then hire a junior when you have recouped the time to spend with them.

I’ve reached a point where I’m thinking about expanding my team again but I’m stuck between… 1. hire an established freelancer (and take the £££ hit) 2. hire a junior freelancer and train them up (which means investing lots of time) What would you do?

Third option would be: Hire an employee but honestly, the idea terrifies me because being solely responsible for someone’s livelihood (other than my own) seems like a LOT for lil ol’ me 🥲

Just goes to show the silly little narratives we tell ourselves about “I’ll start when…” or “one day…” when we could, in fact, just do the thing now

I keep telling myself I’d *love* to be able to work 4-day weeks one day and yet… Last week was a 4-day week This week is a 4-day week Next week is a 4-day week Sooo I guess I’m already doing it 🥲
