“Toxic casuals” in the gaming community who not only reject, but advocate for the removal of skill gaps in games have done more damage to gaming than any “try hard” ever has. Gaming casually is perfectly fine, but losing to those who take the time to learn, embrace, and master the mechanics of a game should be expected and accepted if you do play more casually.

Brawlhalla is fundamentally a passive game and no matter what you change to dashing or snap dash you will not change that, and thats okay. If you think that will fix anything you have never been even remotely good at any other fighting game and you only play brawlhalla.
