revisiting OoT 3D for master quest and it's a little interesting how nintendo was using zelda remasters in this era to sell people on the system's features/gimmicks. WWHD and OOT3D are some of the best showcases on their systems for the gamepad and 3D/gyro respectively

I just wish there was content that scaled with how strong you get from finding all the heart pieces and whatnot. I'd just like to be able to take my time and explore the world *and* also feel challenged. it's definitely not an invalid approach to designing a game though

and 3D zelda has never been very hard to begin with. this design philosophy extends all the way to botw with how freeing all the divine beasts just shaves off most of the final boss' health bar for free. sometimes power trips are fun (fierce deity especially) but it feels cheap

replaying OoT and I think I'm realizing as a completion brained gamer that maybe I've never jived with these games as much as I could because of how they reward you for going out of your way to do all the side content. it makes the game too easy, sometimes trivial even
