Yesterday, GPD and GFD were dispatched to Grapevine Lake, where a Tesla Cybertruck was stranded in the water. The driver drove into the lake to use the “Wade Mode” feature when the vehicle became disabled. The passengers abandoned the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

GPD busted a major DFW auto theft ring. Stolen vehicle parts linked to 30+ vehicles, VIN-swapped vehicles, stolen firearms and cash were recovered; an estimated total value of $1.6M. Five suspects were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity/Property Theft > $300K.

Just before 1:00 this afternoon, GPD responded to an incident at the 3300 block of Wilshire Ave. The area is secure and our officers will remain on scene. We will release more information as it is available.

Grapevine Police Department is continuing its investigation at Grapevine High School. Any staff and students remaining on campus have been evacuated.

3:59pm UPDATE: the highway is now open.

SH-121 Northbound at the I-635 split is currently closed due to a vehicle accident. Due to a diesel fuel leak, this is a hazmat situation. All traffic is being diverted to Eastbound SH-114. Drivers are to expect delays for an extensive period while cleanup is underway.

HIGHWAY CLOSURE Our officers responded to an 18-wheeler crash on W 114 EB. Due to the icy conditions, the incident resulted in a multi-vehicle crash. Fortunately, there are no injuries to report. This has resulted in the full shutdown of the highway for at least 2 hours.

The scammer uses a fake email address to target churchgoers by impersonating their pastor. They are asked to purchase gift cards as a donation. Once purchased, the scammer requests the card numbers to be emailed. If targeted, contact our non-emergency line at 817-410-8127.
