AI agents need to pay for things. That's a harder problem than it sounds. If an agent pays $0.0001 for a data query but the gas fee is $0.05, the economics fail entirely.
GraphTally, the trust-minimized micropayment system built by core developers on The Graph, has been live on the network since late 2024 and directly shaped the x402 specification to solve exactly this problem.

Is indexing a solved problem?

Consensus Miami was AMAZING!
One thing was clear throughout the week: the industry is focused less on hype and more on products people can actually use. Stablecoins, tokenization, payments, and AI-powered tools dominated conversations both on stage and in the halls.
The vibe this year felt much more grounded, more builders, more real business discussions, and a lot more focus on how crypto fits into everyday systems. Great seeing so many familiar faces, partners, founders, and friends all in one place.
