Will it kill you people to credit Garfield Minott's artwork for once? He was one of the first and only Black Paleoartists to have made it Big in a museum paleoart scene still dominated by white sculptors to this day. If you're gonna deform his work at least credit him. RIP Minott

🚨NEW STUDY DROP🚨
Paper re-describes many of the specimens applied to the Pinacosaurus genus. New species, Pinacosaurus hilwitnorum, is named from specimens applied to P. grangeri. P. mephistocephalus is too distinct and put in a new genus, Eopinacosaurus.

Es una pena terrible que ningúno de los elefantes enanos haya sobrevivido hasta la actualidad

Life size Palaeoloxodon falconeri(。・ω・。)The dwarf elephants of Sicily Everyone says it's small, but when I carried them upstairs, it didn't feel small at all lol One day I will take them to Sicily.(^v^)

@PaleoLogica We will also have more direct and intuitive displays, so stay tuned!
English

@Grasher2002 Están geniales! Aplicaste muy bien las proporciones generadas por el enanismo insular en el género. Enhorabuena 👏🏼

@slimegamer87 @paleotuga Although it is 95% smaller than its original ancestor, its brain is still two-thirds to half the size of its original ancestor. So, in terms of intelligence, it is still an elephant. LOL

@Grasher2002 @paleotuga It's small, but it's still and elephant lmfao

@KGamer1569 But I love them just the same because, although they arrived in Europe 2 million years after the mammoths, they still occupied southern Europe. And their skull evolution was very dramatic and fascinating.
English

@Grasher2002 I love how palaeoxodon as a genus is at the same time both one of the largest and the smallest elephants ever
English

@KGamer1569 Mammoths of the Pleistocene are just as fascinating, as the smallest elephant known today may be a mammoth.
English

@fill42_Blank I am very much looking forward to collaborating with local museums in Sicily.
English

@Grasher2002 They're so cute, and imagining a parade of elephant statues coming through the airport would honestly be amazing

Tierzoo had the gull to show off this clip of a tapir defending its territory from a columbian hippo and still put it in F tier.
