Car shopping might be one of the biggest scams in America. Yesterday I helped my uncle—who recently had a brain aneurysm—try to buy a car. Online price: $14,263 After sitting with the dealership, they sent the actual quote: $26,257.88 Almost DOUBLE. Why? • Junk fees • Protection plans • Insurance add-ons • “Dealer packages” And here’s the kicker… They said the $14,263 “internet price” ONLY applies if you finance the car. The $3,734 “discount” disappears if you pay cash. The salesman even admitted it isn’t disclosed online. So yes — it’s basically false advertising. Then they say: “Just finance it and pay it off in 6 months.” Meanwhile the car is: • 2019 • 90,000 miles • Has an accident on record The car market is completely broken. I genuinely feel bad for people who don’t realize how these games work.
