@GrayersDad @nezdemkovski @umbrel That's not safe, it'd persist reboots but the overlay would be lost on an OTA update. If you use the hook, all changes will be persisted across both reboots and updates

fun perspective: umbrelOS 1.7 still supports the raspberry pi 4, the device the very first version shipped for almost 6 years ago six years of OS updates, on a $35 computer

I’m currently on 1.7.2, and every reboot is wiping out my host-level setup. After each reboot: my manually installed Cloudflare Tunnel service disconnects/stops working custom /etc/systemd/system/*.service files are deleted I have to re-run sudo usermod -aG docker umbrel for my docker aliases/scripts to work again my manually installed Docker-based Testnet3/Testnet4 nodes no longer start correctly Prior to 1.7.x, all of this survived reboots without issue. For users running infrastructure beyond the app store, including Bitcoin mainnet/testnet infrastructure, miners, APIs, faucets, automations, custom monitoring, etc., reboot persistence is critical. Is this expected behaviour in 1.7.x, or is persistence after reboot currently broken for host-level modifications/services?

@nezdemkovski @umbrel woops sorry that was a bug and it's now fixed in beta 2. you can simply ssh in: ssh umbrel@umbrel.local then run: sudo rugix-ctrl system reboot --spare this would rollback your umbrelOS to 1.5 (without any data loss). you can then normally update to 1.7 beta 2 via the UI again

There's no official Docker Hub image. You can build it from source (Dockerfile included): git clone github.com/OCEAN-xyz/datu… cd datum_gateway docker build -t datum . Note: no docker-compose.yml is provided, and the datum_gateway_config.json needs to be extracted and configured manually.

I figured it out. Partly on me for not saving the original offer when I created it, but I'll also put some blame on Coinos for not having a way to view created offers. Because I had already created the offer once, reusing the same description caused Coinos to generate a new offer without the memo. That's why Ocean kept throwing the "prefix mismatch" error. Tonight I tried something I didn't expect to work. I created multiple offers by changing one "0" in the address to an "o", generating the offer, then changing it back and moving to the next "0". I did this for all 5 zeros. Each time, only a small section of the offer string changed. When I moved to the next test, the previous section always reverted back to the same pattern. So with 5 slightly different offers, each with one small change, I was able to reconstruct the original offer just by making each section match the other 4. Didn't expect that to work, but it did.

My prediction: @ocean_mining will account for 10% of the global pool mining hashrate within 12 months. If you're only interested in fiat, you earn about 3.6% more than you would in other pools. You can choose your own template for those wanting to preserve Bitcoin as a monetary network. You can choose your own template for those wanting to turn Bitcoin into a network for cat pictures. All roads lead to Ocean mining. There is no compelling reason to use any other mining pool.

@ProofOfCash @_BitcoinCapital @philip_dath @ocean_mining If you don’t trust payout accounting, you probably shouldn’t be pool mining. Ocean offers Lightning payouts for block rewards under the on-chain threshold, so centralized block templates are still the bigger issue for me.
