The dust bowl was largely caused by agriculture. Removing native prairies increased wind erosion, leading to massive dust storms. I hope to see the widespread adoption of lab-grown meat within our lifetimes so we can replant the prairies and restore our native ecosystems.

@_natastrophe_ if lab-grown meat becomes scalable are genuinely going to see a complete abandonment of vasts swathes of land. it would make the dustbowl look like a cakewalk.

veganism is not inherently a morally superior position. the vegetables and fruits you consume are also harvested via immense cruelty & exploitation, not to even mention indigenous practices or food deserts. if you care about animals, the position to take is anti-capitalism.

I was onboard with veganism until I learnt some vegan are white and some non-vegans are non-white. Furthermore, I have come to understand whale hunting is good, as some whales are white.

@_rum_pumpumpum i had meant to say seal hunting, which is very important to inuit people. as someone who grew up learning about indigenous cultures and practices i am of the opinion that they probably love and respect animals more than most vegans who hold this opinion
