As part of our statewide campaign to expand childhood obesity awareness through community engagement, mobile outreach and evidence-based tools, Pennington Biomedical’s Greaux Healthy initiative, in partnership with the State of Louisiana, visited Lake Charles. Thank you to the Mayor Marshall Simien Jr. for proclaiming March 5 as Greaux Healthy Day in the city and to the local police jury for their recognition of the initiative. We appreciate local officials, #LSU Board member Rebecca Boniol and everyone else who attended this morning’s press conference and look forward to working with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and others from Southwest Louisiana as we continue to grow efforts to combat childhood obesity

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center's Geaux Healthy initiative is going strong at Magnolia Woods Elementary. The childhood obesity prevention program was implemented this year for fourth- and fifth-grade PE students, offering lessons on building healthy habits.
