After Kemal's death in 1938, Greek dictator Ioannis Metaxas renamed Apostolos Pavlos Street in Thessaloniki to Kemal Ataturk St. He also used public funds to buy the home (which Kemal was supposedly born in) and gifted it to Turkey. More in our new book: amzn.to/43nDx5I
