Hi everyone! I've made a "United in Red" fundraiser for awareness of Bleeding Disorders, as March is Bleeding Disorders month. This general term covers any blood related disorder, whether it's clotting, shape of blood cells, etc. The two most commonly recognized blood disorder (from those who aren't in the community) are Sickle Cell Anemia and Hemophilia. My connection is that I have family with hemophilia, and I have my own different personal battle with it too. I'm here for mostly raising awareness, but I also have a donothon side that goes directly to Save One Life, which is an organization that helps people with bleeding disorders all around the globe. It helps pay for medicine as well as housing, education, and anything else that needs to be temporarily covered until people get back on their feet. Save One Life helps give independence. Which is why I really love their mission. Donations are never expected, always appreciated: tilt.fyi/pk5LhMsGsp . The goal is to raise $2,500 because of Save One Life turning 25 years old. The red tie on my model will remain until the end of March. The tie has a similar symbolism as wearing a ribbon for cancer. It's to show support for those who are quietly suffering with a blood disorder. If you want to help more, showing yourself with a red tie means so much. I have a hard time explaining what it's like without going into medical, and unfortunately, sometimes political issues. Seeing someone with a red tie means that you need to explain less why you weren't able to come into work. Why you can't play contact sports. Why you need to (TW: medical) have needles around the house. Why you have that bump in your chest (ports). Why you need those extra minutes to walk from one place to another. Because it becomes tiring. And I know lots of us (bleeding disorder or not) have these feelings, even if it's for different reasons. Wearing a red tie is a way to be seen. To say that things will get better. There have been so many medical advances and I'm looking forward to so many more. Every minute watched, every penny donated, every like and repost means something.
