startups aren’t as easy as I thought. had a couple ideas I felt really smart about. only to find out they already existed? that was a reality check. building something new is harder than it looks. the real edge isn’t always inventing from scratch, it’s taking what exists and adding a layer that makes it better, different, or impossible to ignore. back to the drawing board.
