This tree is fast-growing and grows yellow blooms between April & June! These flowers are known for their nectar. Yellow Poplars are associated with the first century of forest succession, or, when a habitat experiences changes in the kind of plants and animals which live in it.

Our tree of the week is the Yellow Poplar. Yellow Poplars, also known as Tulip Trees, are native to eastern North America. Did you know these trees can grow without branches until they reach 80-100ft (25-30m) tall?

The function of the tree’s growths is something of a mystery, although some believe it is a way to help the roots get oxygen. Did you know this tree exclusively dwells in swamps? It's because it out-competes most other trees in these areas.

Our tree of the week is Bald Cypress! This deciduous conifer is noted for the russet-red color of its lacy needles. It’s also tough and hardy, being able to adapt to a wide range of soil types and growing conditions.
