I'm a convinced atheist and here is my drop:
The world looks exactly as it should if no gods/god exist.
Cold, indifferent, and brutally random.
Stars explode and wipe out entire planets for no reason. Kids get cancer while rapists live to 90. One tiny rock in a sea of deadly vacuum somehow sprouts life that mostly suffers and dies.
Atoms are 99.9% empty space, wasteful bullshit.
Prayers change nothing. Miracles only happen in stories or blurry videos.
If an all-powerful, all-loving God was running things, we’d see order, justice, and mercy. Instead we see chaos, suffering, and silence.
Exactly what blind physics and dumb luck would produce.
No divine architect. No cosmic parent watching over us.
Just a messy universe doing its thing, and us temporary bags of meat trying to make sense of it before we blink out forever.

I drive straight from my job where I crawl through crawlspaces and get covered in mud, dirt, water, spiderwebs, and who knows what else in order to make it to a Holy Day of Obligation Mass at 7pm.

I saw the picture of the marathon runners attending Mass in short shorts and tank tops I just gotta say To me, they went against the first commandment i.e to not put "strange gods" above the one true God If the runners had always intended on going to Mass before the Marathon, they could've planned more church appropriate clothing the night before, or brought a change of clothes and changed in the bathroom But they put the marathon above God and did not give Him the respect He deserves It's really sad and disheartening.

My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

It will make things so much worse you won’t believe how bad things can get. Limited military action in Iran will be the least of your worries. I can promise you that.

Went to Mass at a very good N.O. parish today and the homily was about discerning priesthood.
It was a great homily, but sadly literally all servers at this Mass were girls.

I mean, basically, because it wasn’t. It was just a show that really wanted to be Star Trek to the point Seth hired a ton of Trek alums behind the scenes, and then they made a Star Trek-type dramedy (and by season three it settled into straight drama.) Loved it, personally
