I can't see the tweet you replied to! I'm guessing you're talking about mounting a bucket of assets to a subpath? This can be done by either manipulating the request in Worker script before passing it over the binding (as you describe), or by first putting assets into an appropriately named child directory before upload.

@GregBrimble we have it working via stripping out the base path in the worker and mapping to the assets but official support would be great.
