Last week, OpenVPP $OVPP received a grant from Circle $USDC.
For me, it’s more than funding, it’s validation that what we’re building at OpenVPP is truly unique, valuable, and industry changing.
Last year, at Circle HQ in NYC, I remember most being struck by the scale of their mission: Bringing the world on-chain by lowering the barrier to financial transactions globally.
Similarly, OpenVPPs mission "To create the Internet of Energy" starting from the customer, their devices, up to the powerplant is one of lowering the barrier to power. To power us as a society to step into the future, to power datacenters for AI, all the way to powering everyday moments in peoples lives.
Its this same vision around enabling the everyday for people across the world that drives OpenVPP and Circle. And just like the financial industry needs rails for payments, the energy industry needs rails for energy usage; down to every device, transaction, and moment that the grid powers. It's this combined rail, energy plus financial transactions, that is the innovation that OpenVPP is laser focused on bringing to market.
This grant is not the start of the journey for us, but rather a continued endorsement of the rails we're building to power the future. We see stablecoins and Circle as an increasing part of the future for OpenVPP and we're excited to say that we're just getting started.
