@RefuseToLosePod Why throw Ferrer in the 6th with 1 out instead of Speier if you are throwing a LHP? You also can’t have Speier face Ramirez there. He’s the one guy you can’t let beat you late and hit .322 against LHP last year. It’s early, but it obviously was a bad decision as it was happening.

Sure, but to put another man in scoring position? 4) Could he have brought in Brash? Sure, but that seems unnecessary on night 1, especially with how good Speier was last year. 5) Yes, the team was down one and used Legumina and Criswell. Do you think they want to burn Brash and Bazardo when down? Especially if they may not want to use Speier and/or Ferrer again? 6) Spots 2-6 in the order are 1-for-15 with seven strikeouts. Also not a Dan problem. Pitchforks down. Tridents up.

@RBunikiewicz Generally speaking not enough vert on the fastball, not enough movement on a sinker. Tough to get good shape on a primary fastball. That's my impression from reading a lot of these charts. If I'm wrong, would be delighted to be educated.

Seth Hernandez has elite velo and a really nice curveball. But he's very very raw. The changeup should be firmer, and leverage seam effects. Needs a gyro slider. Not sure he's a pronator, def not a supinator. That's a tough recipe.

@KickDirtBB @TJStats The Mariners do not have questions at RF. Victor Robles got hurt last year early. He’s their RF, with Canzone mixing in. People seem oblivious to the fact that Canzone hit .300 last season in roughly 250 at bats. They signed Refsnyder to platoon with Canzone at DH.

Brennen Davis is having one hell of a Spring. Another 3 BBE’s yesterday at EV’s of 98, 104, and 104 mph. It’s an encouraging start for the former Top 100 prospect. The Mariners still have questions in RF and at DH, so we could finally see his debut in 2026.

@FAmmiranteTFJ Absolutely NOT. Emerson has potential, but he’s WAY too young and hasn’t even played a single big league game yet. Ease him into the role if you have to, but JP is gonna go at worst .263/.350/.400 or so while Emerson’s rookie season will be .228/.305/.368 at BEST. Start JP at SS.

The Mariners should just make Colt Emerson the everyday SS. I get it, JP Crawford is good in the clubhouse or whatever. But he had a .370 slugging percentage with poor defense and baserunning last season. Emerson would raise the ceiling for this offense.
