Very sad news. Moli det bigibigi (Molly the pig) passed away in the recent Katherine floods. It was a beloved pet in the Kalano community for years, with two amazing Kriol books written about it. Community members are very sad.

My L2 English speaking partner was feeling good, distinguishing “sofa” and “so far” (a long way away) with no issues ❤️ Little did he know, the other “so far”, meaning ‘until this point in time’, was just about to burst his bubble. Poor English learners 😔 he was v confused 😩

I have so much respect for @Malarndirri19 and hope she can protect the NT from fracking. It’s so deeply unwanted and intrinsically dangerous for the NT’s land and water. @tanya_plibersek use the water trigger now so that frackers can’t just do as they please. Don’t Frack the NT!

Fracking the NT has turfed not one but two governments out of office. Voters turned on CLP in a massive way in 2016 when Labor offered a moratorium on Fracking. Eight years later, Labor had greenlit fracking and got decimated just like CLP. Let’s just end fracking!

Nightcliff in the NT Election was a 4-horse race so it took 1.5 weeks for a real preference count to appear. Annnndddd… Greens are ahead! With only a handful of votes to come (plus a recount). Greens may actually get into NT Parliament for the first time! 💚💚
