Looks like a Norway maple (?) Which doesn't cope so well with this level of pruning.

@BackupHangman The tone was set when they celebrated having the largest gate, the crowd cheering for being charged so much! Then the legends coming out to brownnose Netflix execs and advertise products really killed it

I resent a lot about how yesterday played out. Every bit of (clearly lame) news was being rolled out to accounts quoting it with “Man. TONIGHT is gonna be like a PLE #WWERAW.” It felt like an hollow, NPC ridden media/hype circus with the fanbase doing backflips for every bit of mild PR. Celebrities being paid to tweet about the show in advance. Justified pessimism being shut down throughout the day and then the show comes and it’s an empty chip bag where every last one of my concerns were justified. 3 hours of pure, undistilled capitalism. Fans cheering for being overcharged on seats, and the promotion taking a never ending decadent victory lap about how much money they’re making. It was a Nick Khan press event for sponsors and shareholders with 4 matches interrupting at points. The supporting cast of characters that helped bring wwe to this point reduced to being smile and wavers. Rock detonating his existing stories because he has no clue when he’s going to wrestle again. None of the dynamic angles, no existing stories advanced. Today, blue checks are asking you neutral horseshit like “What do you rate the Netflix premiere out of 10?” and “Thoughts on Hulk Hogan being booed.” because most of them are spineless, unpaid PR agents that are too terrified to give takes. I guess when it all came down to it, the show did feel like a WWE PLE. Lacking in substance, missing action from a lot of the wrestlers that really help make the TV what it is, and a lot of time devoted to self congratulation and product placement.

@paulpowlesland The cost, logistics and very low rate of it successfully establishing after transplanting means you're much better off using the time and money to plant several new ones

Tree twitter! This birch tree in Barking is facing destruction & the only option available to save it is to move it. I know it’s not ideal, but what can we do to give it the best chance? What size rootball? Any other hints or tips?

Greg said the same thing. Not quite sure why offence was taken. Just trying to see if we can save this tree. Ideally best help would be to get an indy ecologist look at it but on we go.

There's an argument that Perenni is a more aggressive decayer than Gano Also factoring in the life left of the tree and if establishing a new one is more valuable and worthwhile comes into decision making

Is it a mast year for Ginkgo biloba? The magnificent female tree in St Mary Magadalen churchyard in Bermondsey is laden with fruit, and her companion, who we always assumed was male, has also produced fruit this year! Were we wrong? Any thoughts? @TheStreetTree @KewScience
